Avocado Spinach Smoothie= key lime pie shake

I love avocados, I love spinach… so when I came across some avocado shake recipes I decided to try out some of my favorite flavors all together. Here is how it went. Enjoy!

You will need:

one ripe avocado
a handful or two of baby spinach
3/4 cup coconut milk (I used the vanilla one)
1 tablespoon of sweetned condensed milk… but you could use any sweetner or honey!
the juice of one key lime or lime
3-4 ice cubes

then start blending!

If you live in a warm climate (like us at Sonoran Chic) you can walk out into your yard and get the lime and spinach fresh! But store bought is just as good;)

Now as most foo chic experiments go, we decided to expand on delicious! Though the above recipe is muy delicioso, I wondered what it would be like with some honey greek yogurt added in… So I blended in about a 1/4-1/2 cup and then put a dollop ontop just for some flare;) It was sooo good! Enjoy!

Easy Coconut Curry

Melt 2 tablespoons butter and sprinkle in coriander, cumin, and a tiny bit o cinnamon. Add onions (caramelized ones work nicely), and some garlic. Saute some chicken in the mixture and add some spicy-ness… like chili peppers! Mix curry powder into coconut milk and then pour over mixture. (medium heat then simmer until it smells really good). Serve over rice.

Gnocchi as dessert!
